AppearanceLinaria genistifolia is a perennial herb that can grow from 19.7-39.4 in. (50-100 cm) tall.Foliage Leaves are alternate, bluish-green in color, clasping, ovate to lanceolate, 1-1.7 in. (2.5-3.5 cm) long, and 3 veined.Flowers Flowers are narrowly lanceolate, 0.2-0.24 (5-6 mm), pale yellow corolla, slightly curved, and arranged in elongated clusters along the stem. Flowering occurs between May and September.Fruit Seed capsules are globose and almost as long as calyx, 0.2-0.24 in. (5-6 mm) in diameter. Seeds are brown-gray, 3 sided, and narrowly winged.Ecological ThreatLinaria genistifolia can be found in forests, along roadsides, and sandy areas. It is native to the Mediterranean. NOTE: Linaria genistifolia can be confused with Dalmation toadflax. Linaria genistifolia has smaller flowers and narrower leaves in comparison.
