The Most Common and Troublesome Weeds surveys are used to document shifts in weed populations and management systems. The survey is divided into four classes of crops: grass, broadleaf, vegetables and fruits, and aquatics and ornamentals. Each class is reviewed, in turn, every four years. The surveys are sent out to extension specialists in each state responsible for the crops contained in that year’s survey. Their responses for the top common and troublesome weeds in that crop are based on experiences with growers, consultants, and colleagues.
